Bolshevik Revolution
On 24th October, 1917, Lenin ordered Trotsky, the leader of the Red Army to seize important strategic locations like telephone exchange, bridges, and garrison. Without any resistance they were able to take control of areas from Smoly Institute to the Winter Palace. Alexander Kerensky, the leader of the Provisional Government escaped and the Bolshevik was able to take control of Petrograd and the whole of Russia. On October 1917, the Provincial Government was abolished and the Russian Soviet Republic was set up. It led to the transfer of powers to the soviets that governed the whole of Russia. In addition, the peace treaty of Brest Litovsk was signed between Soviet Russia and the Central powers in order to withdraw from the war which had caused lot of loss to life and property.
