Mental illness

Mental illness occurs in a person due to subjective disability or distress, which occurs in an individual. The understandings of mental health conditions have changed over a period of time, there are now cure available at the treatment centres.  The professionals or clinical psychologist’s diagnose the mental nature of an individual based on a series of test that they conduct on the individual.

In some cases the mental illness can be caused due to stress, work pressure, environments, family and many more factors. The clinical psychologists take all the factors into consideration before coming to conclusion. Even if we can fully understand that not all mental illness is deadly and can be cured, the people are not ready to be totally interactive with a mentally ill person.

Previous people were not ready to come out in open to readily discuss the problem, even now a day‘s people are not so sure about coming out in open to discuss the issues. But the few who have come out have experienced a vast difference in their life and are able to help others lead a peaceful life. The mental illness when detected at an early stage is easily curable with medications itself. With the social stigma attached to the problem it is difficult to make the people understand the importance of consulting a doctor. The doctors themselves prefer to treat the patients under their supervision instead of sending to an institution to be taken care. And the institution also sees to that proper care is been taken for the disable people.

Another stigma attached with mental illness is that it makes the person violent in nature. Well this is untrue, there are several studies done and there is no proof for so.  There are some particular cases where this is possible, but they are not so common. Mental disorder is a very common illness, study has found that one in every three people in the world have experienced some form of mental illness at least once in their life. Mental disorder includes anxiety, mood disorder, delusions, hallucinations, sleep disorder, eating disorders, Schizoaffective disorder, and many more. If proper treatment is taken they can be easily treated.
