Egomania

Egomania is an infatuated “preoccupation with one's self and applies to someone who follows their own ungoverned impulses and is possessed by delusions of personal greatness and feels a lack of appreciation.” Somebody suffering from this tremendous egocentric focus is an egomaniac. The stipulation is psychologically common and has been ascribed to various historical figures and celebrities. The infantile personality responds only to gross symbols, ideas, and commands.

E.g.:

An unrecognized, indiscernible killer is pestering the world. The dangerous aspect of egomania is its skill to acquire over the mind and soul of its victims, so that instead of considering egomania as a bug, we are made to see it as the height of human reason (pursuing our self-interest) and the purpose of human existence (getting ahead). Yet when we see its most horrible aspects---its mainly gruesome visages--we are blind to its negative lethality.

To give way to egomania means that we turn out to be:

  • restricted in outlook or anxiety to our own actions or desires; unsighted to the larger reality
  • apprehensive with self-indulgence rather than the common good; focusing on insatiability as a replacement for of kinship
  • infatuated with an overstated intellect of self-importance; full of arrogance instead of regard for others
  • forbidden by any one who flatters us or appears to think about our needs; supporters of no matter what cult leader appears to make out our importance

We have high school and college students who wish for nothing more out of their educational experience than credits; they contain no curiosity whatsoever in perceptive the subjects they study. They're not yet involved in increasing their skills; if they can acquire other students to do their homework and tests for them, that's enormous.

The mainstream of people in our way of life merely want to get along, stay away from dilemma with authority figures, achieve something in their careers, and fill up as much individual pleasure into their lives as possible. In short, nearly everyone in our humanity is full-fledged infants. Showing off, having "attitudes," chatting incessantly in relation to oneself, conceited through life, taking satisfaction in ignorance and violence--these have been converted into the norms.
