ADOLESCENT PSYCHOLOGY

The study of the nature and the development of adolescent behavior is called adolescent psychology. Adolescence is the time period someone undergoes various Biological and Emotional changes. The adolescent time period of an individual may vary according to the cultural and geographical nature of the society with which he is attached. In simple terms it can be described as the period between childhood and adulthood. The physical health and the role of jeans also could not be neglected while deciding the adolescence period. The World Health Organization has declared the common adolescence age period for a human to be between nine and twenty.

 An individual is identified to be more dynamic in his adolescence period. During this period only he is developed with abstract thinking and become aware of sexuality. It is more and more important to consider an adolescent as an individual just like any other adult. At this period generally everyone is raged, confused and exited. Being mostly rebellion with their parent someone is closely associated with friends and companions. The personal traits of an individual, is getting shaped only at this time around .Male and female adolescents are differed by getting influenced by logical thinking, emotional attachments and passion. Not only sexual orientation but also Personality development and moral development are also finalized only at this period.’ Storm and stress’ has been identified as a part and parcel of this period

The early period of adolescence is mostly influenced by the peers than one’s parent. The thirst on unique identity is a common and the famous problem faced by an adolescent. The wishes of an individual to become just like his role model is another problem often faced in adolescent period. There is always a conflict between the peers and family influencing the individual on arriving to a conclusion in subjects related from education aspiration to career development. And even the food they eat and the type of dress they wear too influenced by the peers. An adolescent is always willing to experiment new things. The adolescence period can be differentiated into three different phases like early, mid and late adolescence.
