THE AMERICAN PRESIDENCY

The American Presidency directly relates to the President of the United States of America, the head of the state and the head of government presiding over the executive branch of the federal government and the commander-in-chief of the United States armed forces.

Considered as a burden of honor by the official legislative, the presidency shoulders innumerable responsibilities including the execution of federal law, appointing federal executive, diplomatic, regulatory, and judicial officers besides signing treaties with foreign countries after consulting with the Senate and the Congress. All decisions are made with sole consent of the President in direct with consultation meetings at Senate member chamber and the power distribution is equal to manifest order in the country. Congressional bills are signed by the President but modern day leaders play more than approving the bills and take direct part in the legislative despite restricted powers over the section.

During the time of American revolution, the President of the United States in Congress Assembled was formed to supervise the actions of the Congress with power to make decisions. However, it was detached and the term ‘President’ was chosen by the founders to refute any monarchical power rule but to establish a definitive democracy. The three major duties performed by the Presidency or the President are in Legislative, Executive in Article I and II respectively. Legislative mainly cover signing bills or refusing to by sending it to veto. In the executive division, powers vested include war and foreign affairs, administrative roles, juridical powers, and legislative facilitator.

Said as the most crucial power under the control of the President, commanding the U.S. armed forces for declaring war comes under the presidency with consent from the congress. The president directly commands and supervises the military strategy. Department of State and Department of Defense is controlled by the same making the person in power responsible for the safety of American nationals abroad. Executive agreements are made in the American Presidency and foreign policies for long term negotiation with world countries are executed.

With the advice and consent of the Senate, the President can exercise his administrative powers to directly address political and public issues, de-employ executive officials and so on. Executive branch comes under surveillance of the Presidency and all decisions made are with immediate consent. In Juridical powers, President can involve in case dealt by Supreme Court directly and nominate judges to district courts.

The powers of American Presidency is vast and has direct or indirect control vested throughout all the branches operating in the country while heavy responsibility is shouldered on the President for the country’s growth globally.
