Territorial conflicts:

In the post Cold War world the communal claims have become one of the basic threats for peace. A freedom for expression was obtained through the Universalization of the liberal democracy. The democratization unblocks the channels and permits the people for an increased means of political organization.

The territorial conflicts can be solved when they outburst into open confrontation.  A mass violence can be prevented in such a way.

A communal group which is otherwise called an organized group of people asks for an accommodative inclusive or mutually exclusive right for ownership over a piece of a land. The conflict is known as a territorial conflict. Usually that piece of land will be an integral part of a sovereign state.

For these conflicts to be prevented one should have a sound knowledge about the reasons behind the facts. The attitudes and the stakes in confrontation and knowledge about what accurately causes the problem are essential for dealing with these problems.

Scientific analyses:

A case study can help move beyond the methodological orientations imposed in there. There are several questions that are to be addressed. One should know the answers for the questions like what a territorial claim is, why a particular territory is claimed, what are the most efficient preventive tactics that are to be deployed, what are the basic enfeebling factors that are to be considered for negotiations and other processes. One important thing has to be kept in mind while dealing with these issues. One should know that each territorial claim is unique and the major factor of consideration is the circumstantial factors.

There is also another important question to be analyzed here. Why people rebel against the territorial order of a nation?

The answer to this question is that if it is a state’s territory, it becomes a common good which has to be shared equally by everyone. So a territory is considered to be together with people and the nation. Territorial conflicts arise when the common property is no longer perceived as a common good but becomes specific good only for a particular group of people. This process may lead to violence if not dealt properly.

Analyzing the basic Human needs and Claims for territory, security comes into play. When a party presumes that the claimed territory is very important for security, a politically-assertive communal group rebels against the territorial order of the state. Even the claims to preserve the identity arise here.

The preventive actions of these highly complicated territorial conflicts remain still unarmed.
