South American Politics

South American Politics faced a lot of hardships in the past and in present day political scenario it enjoys a great democratic political rule which was not attained in a day’s time but through years of continual struggle against dictatorship policies that lasted for decades in South America. Termed as Latin America, it is described as a land of romance where languages like Latin, French, Spanish and Portuguese are primarily spoken. The counterpart of United States of America was a late comer to the world of democratic politics when people started voting to choose their representative to rule on their behalf. Even during the rule of supreme powers, South American politics was in complete chaos with unprecedented issues in vogue while freedom struggle raged in other areas.

After unabated struggle for freedom, when the country finally gained independence its politics was once again in a state of crisis and outcome of freedom was nothing but poverty and inequality. Steps were taken to restore prosperity to eradicate poverty but differentiation based on class of people prevailed even now without definite political policies to face it. South American politics had changed a lot since the time of imperialism and dominant rule but it is a regrettable fact that it still has many unsolved questions of the society just like it were about five decades ago.

In recent times, the initiation of exporting natural goods and making good use of resources helped Latin America to escape complete deterioration of being a nation but the period of economic and social rights deprivation prevails. Fighting odds had been a constant agenda for South America and despite some huge shortcomings the nation tries to implement democratization to be ahead in global economic community.

The existing political parties of Latin America are in Argentina, Peru, Brazil, Suriname, and Nicaragua. Of late women leaders and representatives of government have started showing up to bring about a change with a meager percentage of fifteen percent in executive power and about fourteen percent in legislative powers. Power of women in politics is prominent compared to the situation in other countries of the world and the United States of America. Because, women participated actively in freedom struggle movement against dictatorship and it was the leaders from the gender who made milestone achievements in moving the country forward towards prosperity.

South American Politics is an ever developing politic scenario which has gained some notable economic development in recent past and it is considered a great achievement in history of American politics.
