Politics in Middle East
Politics in Middle East which is a rough reference to the region encompassed by southwestern Asia and Egypt is a collection of religious faiths that influence political decision making. In modern times, the boundaries that describe the Middle East also comprises of Afghanistan, Pakistan, Caucasus and Central Asia including North Africa. To put it simply, it refers to a vast region bounded by countries in all its borders.
The history of Middle East prevails ever since the age of Pharaohs and it had played essential roles in world affairs and politics governing the worldly nations. Once it was called the Near East and the modern day region is a conglomeration of varied religions such as Islam, Christianity, Judaism and more. The term Middle East which was founded by the British rulers had been subject to huge criticism due to eurocentrism. Politically, the usage of the term has led to many conflicts but on general terms democracy is near to non-existent in some countries of the Middle East, especially those who has the UAE origin. Both Europeans and non-Europeans are used to the term, while in United States history it was referred to as by Eisenhower Doctrine in 1957.
A massive duel existed between political power controlling over the politics in Middle East between the United States and the Soviet Union, USSR. Politics and ideology played an influential role in deciding the future of the group of nations. With world’s largest oil base situated in the region, it has a strong voice in the Western world as they are the major contributors of economy to the West. The major ethnic groups are Arabs, Turks, Persian, Jews, Kurds, Armenians, Azeri’s, Greeks and Georgians.
The Northern America has a Middle East Studies Association namely MESA which is a group of scholars studying the politics in Middle East, it’s influence over world countries, its contribution to global economy and so on. Various activities including surveys, public interaction and social advertisements are adapted to find the origin of politics in Far East.
Despite having a strong economical base, the region of Middle East is biased with prosperity gifted upon the selected few while a huge lot are suffering from poverty, unemployment, poor medical conditions and other issues. Political powers are vested within the democratic system which is hugely dominated by owners of influential business sectors and government powers of Middle East which seek global recognition thus failing miserably to solve inner state problems.
