POLITICS IN SOUTH EAST ASIA
Politics in South East Asia is a mix of cultures, beliefs, sub cultures and leadership based on morals that have its root deep embedded into the country’s history. It is a sub region of Asia which has its South border covered by China, east by India and north by Australia. The South East Asian countries are part of the ASEAN, Association of South East Asian Countries which includes major places as Burma, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia.
Contemporary politics had underwent lot of changes after major wars being fought in the Vietnam, Burma and Cambodia soil that relatively led to massive deterioration in economic situation. In the present Myanmar, Tatmadaw military rule prevails named as State Peace and Development Council. For a long period, the country had never tasted democratic rule but only subject to monopoly rule which displaced thousands of Burmese citizens. Indonesia is widely under communism belief which has major parties Acoma party, Communist party of Indonesia and Partia Comunis Indonesia. A lot of U.S. government activities had been carried out in Indonesia including CIA surveillance. Political stability is meager due to activities of terrorists for which America intends to exercise certain powers over the nation.
One of the most popularized nations of the world famed for its tourist experience, Singapore comes under the ASEAN countries which has its own political consequences and ideas. The range of growth for the country relies mostly on its foreign policies that are favorable for trade and information. Ambassadors Daryl Arnold, Edwin, Steven J Green and many others visited Singapore for negotiating better relationship with the United States.
All along the history of South East Asia and its mass colonization by Japan in the early past, U.S. had been part of the political system being in touch with various aspects of the region. The region of Thailand is dominated by communist activists which were supported by political advocacy groups. Then comes another prominent nation in the politics in South East Asia, Vietnam which has a dark history related to America and had crossed endless obstacles to have favorable political cloud.
With the dawn of 21st century, the territory covered in SEA is witnessing drastic economic growth and being integrated with other regions closely. Countries of this region are being addressed as developed countries while Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos are still trying to catch up with global economy.
