Politics in Asia

Politics in Asia is one of the most convoluted political systems in the world as the world in the east is very much opposite to the western practices. An array of cultural beliefs, religious ideologies and individual customs affect the political decision making which in turn paves way for a completely unique approach to the scenario in Asia. The vast population in these huge land masses is politically managed by diverse varieties of governmental systems such as constitutional monarchies, absolute monarchies, one party states, federal states and related legislative bodies. It also comprises of dependant territories, military dictatorship and liberal democracies.

Compared to the west, even during the period of civilization itself politics had emerged in the Asian lands with places like Mesopotamia having democratic systems which was surprising even for experienced researchers. Written evidence proves the continent was civilized and after decades of war, Asia still manages to peak ahead in the global community with rapidly developing countries like Japan, China and India in its regional boundaries. Very well organized civil services for the protection of country existed in China centuries ago but the Asian political climate is dominated by colonialism and imperialism in contemporary times.

When USSR reined power over the world, the concept of politics in Asia was a vague term as it was predominantly ruled by the Russian power and it had the grip over major superpowers like UK, USA and European Continent. Much to Asia’s dismay, the fall of Soviet Union severely affected the joint governmental functions but with the rise of 21st century, new power China had emerged to backup the Asian market. Hostile environment is prevalent throughout Asia with ever ranging military struggles between India and Pakistan. Besides, the two super growing powers China and India are also not on good terms due to influencing the western business towards their national growth.

The People’s Republic of China and Republic of India is still trying to negotiate the issues with the help of Association of Southeast Asian Nations ASEAN to form a favorable political cloud. Asian politics and policy is internationally oriented including an elite board member of countries including China, Japan, South Korea, ASEAN Nations, Russia, Australia and other countries surrounding in the Asian sub continent.

East Asia and West Asian politics aren’t diverse as the countries covered within are related to one another unlike the splitting up of European Continent. Study of politics in Asia will lead to learning different cultures, motive of people and knowing countries that are vastly developed in terms of land and population.
