LAW & SOCIETY

The number of persons united together by mutual consent to determine and deliberate and to act jointly for some common purpose is called a society. In common wealth jurisdictions the Law Society is meant to be an association of lawyers which has got the right to train and supervise the lawyers. Law being the system of regulations which is meant to shape politics, economics, and society helps society and its setup in numerous ways. There are different kinds of law starting from contract law, property law, trust law, tort law, and criminal law and so on. 

Aristotle, the Greek philosopher said that the rule of law is better than the rule of any individual. These legal systems elaborate the rights and the responsibilities of every individual in a variety of ways. The inquiry into the legal history, philosophy and economic anlaysis provided by Law raises several issues against the complexities of society. Some countries have got the religion to dictate the law.

Once it has been told that all men are equal but some are more equal. Equity should be the body of rules which propelled England to develop separate rules for equal rights. For example the common law or the civil law of the country would never allow people to split the ownership from the control of one piece of property where equity allows it. An arrangement made by a tool called trust allowed people to split the ownership of their property among individuals.

In 1964, an association of Law and Society has been founded which has got a group of scholars from various fields and countries interested in Law and Society. These trained members bring in training on the areas of political science, psychology, anthropology, economics, and history. They also touched the corners of sociolegal phenomena. The association publishes a review named Law & Society Review in addition to its conferences and workshops. The Unified bar association in the United States is similar to Law Societies though there are some differences between them.

England and the Wales have got a professional association which represents the solicitor’s profession. This association trains the solicitors. The members of this association are giving due consideration when important issues are taken to the Parliament. This society which is formed in 1825 is presently having Linda Karen Hadfield as its President. It handles the complaints from the public against the legal services and all its providers. Thus the society which is a group of people has always been governed and run by Law which makes the run smooth enough to victory.
