The Jomon period has been considered as the early stage of the emergence of the Japanese society. This culture is a combination of Europe, Asia, and North America. If we look into the history of Japan, it has been characterized by several immigration processes. This has affected the inhabitant with prolonged isolation from the outside world.

Even the language of Japan plays a vital role in the culture of Japan. Though the language is prominently spoken within the country, the emigrants from Japan carried their language with them around the world.

Concentrating on the script of Japan, it is a combination of three different scripts. Hiragana of Chinese cursive script, Katakana of Chinese shorthand characters and Kanji of China are the base for the Japanese script.

Japanese politics and society values the traditional Japanese political patterns. These traditional values have the strong community sense and solidarity of group. It gives importance to the personal connections of the people.  

Concerned about the community and leadership of Japan, there are certain features of Japan which are peculiar and unique to Japan. A prominent problem found by the Japanese political leaders is in integrating the self respect of the people with the survival of the community.

One important thing that Japan lacked during the recent centuries is the natural resources and space. It couldn’t accommodate the population comfortably. There was one remedy derived for this problem which ignored the welfare of workers and peasants of the population. This has result in Japan using its force against these people when they were dissatisfied with Japan Politics. During the Postwar period after World War II these measures disappeared.

Another important method used by the Japan politics is the group solidarity according to which a strong sense of self sacrifice was rooted in the minds of the Japanese individuals. The community dedication has made the Japanese to develop a sense of self sacrifice.

A strong appeal to the group consciousness was made in Japan which results in Japan’s social life becoming overstressed at times. Individuals may go along with the group demands hoping for a gain in the long run.  The Japanese people were appreciable in receiving liberal ideas though they have got strong and varied ethical and political traditions.

The Society and Politics of Japan used rituals to instigate and nurture sense of group identity. Ceremonies and informal parties were frequently sponsored by the political parties, national and local governments, businesses and other research group to create a group identity.
