GAME THEORY AND POLITICAL THEORY

Game theory and political theory are closely related to one another in terms of making decisive decisions which would invariably affect the entire functioning of a government relatively designed to be implemented on the social individuals.  The method of decision making based on mathematical calculations which is analyzed on a competitive situation with expectation on optimal result in the end is game theory. The purpose of applying game theory ranges from political decisions, legislative passing of bills, economic and military planning as in such large scale areas the proposed outcome should not vary at any cost so mathematics come into picture for devising political theory.

Game theory is invariably applied when the desired outcome is positive political theory. There is a strong relationship between collective preference and non-cooperative game theory which is in a complex environment. The two genres defined are direct preference aggregation models in which the end product is hard to diagnose or predict at all while in the second type which is based on non-cooperative game model can lead to desired results in favor of particular person, entity or the government.

Individual preference and individual choice is the beginning of mathematical probability which is a division of game theory. It helps to find out by comparing two persons, their perspectives and reactions which would be calculated on a single scale to determine the outcome by terming one set of values over others. Cardinal utility and subjective probability is a part of the calculus of voting. Even though it sounds very mathematical, the purpose of its application is to analyze public trend, the view point of voters, their immediate requirements, their mind set and factors affecting the influence of electoral candidates to determine the winner of the elections.

By origin, the concept of game theory is a branch of applied mathematics which is turn is applied in social sciences that houses political theory or positive public policy. Positive political theory is defined as the detailed study of the function of politics and political assimilates by methodological means of study using game theory. Also, methods like statistical analysis and social choice theory can be used to determine the result.

Application of Game theory on political theory is mainly to assess the efficiency of performance of rules, the assumed end result of proposed decision making to avoid improper legislative laws, practical application feasible to society and the proper functioning of government institutions.
