EXECUTIVE PROCESS

Executive process is the power invested and exercised by the Executive Branch of the United States that is comprised of the President, Vice President and the President’s Cabinet or Advisors. Sole power of the Executive Branch is vested with the President who also represents the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces besides being the head of the state. Functioning of the Executive branch mainly involves implementing the bills passed by the Congress which will be executed by the President by appointing the heads of federal agencies including the Cabinet. In a moment of crisis, the Vice President will acquire the place of President in absence to exercise control over the nation.

For day-to-day enforcement and administration of federal laws, independent agencies and the congress work together besides handling the Department of defense, the environmental protection agency, social security administration and the exchange commission.

The president is solely responsible for various activities involved in the legislative and executive branches which are assisted by the members of the senate and the congress. The Executive Office of the president is comprised of immediate staff to assistance, with additional entities such as Office of Management and Budget, and the Office of the United States Trade Representative.

Executive process is governed by the Executive Office of the President (EOP) formed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1939. It determines and decides the future of the nation by seeing its potential in the near future, the outcome of decision making apart from relating the President’s message to the public and establishing foreign trade interests across the world. Prominent parts of EOP are the White House Communications Office and the Press Secretary’s office that relates government activities. A subtle division is the National Security Council that reports directly to the President on intelligence reports, foreign activities and security issues.

Logistical support for the President is provided for wider view into the state politics and the council of senior advisors ‘The Cabinet’ with 15 executive departments make the flow of executive process easier. President appoints the members and Senate approves them who are close confidants with the title as ‘Secretary’. Department of Defense, of Agriculture, of Homeland Security, of Health and Human Services, of Justice, of State, of Labor and many others come under director control of the Executive branch of America.

Executive process is exercised by the President on behalf of the Executive Office of the President that comprises of the Cabinet and confidant entities ensuring order in all departments.
