Engagement Experience
Engagement experience refers to the concept of civic engagement established in United States that is defined as a method of individual and their collective action as one promoted to identify, analyze and solve immediate issues of public concern. The system dates back to origin of mankind themselves when they hunted in groups for the welfare of the tribe and the wellbeing of their close ones which has been implemented in modern society for social development. There are different forms of engagement experience like individuals volunteering to accomplish public welfare tasks and organizational approach towards prescribed objectives for electoral participation.
Engaging oneself with a sense of responsibility towards the development of their nation and their expected commitment to social work which usually may not reap individual benefits but will contribute to country is the core ultimatum underlined by engagement experience. Being careless towards public issues is a universal attitude found in many nations but the U.S. government with a view for public cooperation strongly implements engagement experience so that the nation develops as a whole. Methods of getting involved voluntarily can range from directly facing the issue and addressing the cause to find a solution to working with others in a community towards solving a problem. Volunteers as individual or as an organization interact with the representatives of the government to urge them to find immediate solutions.
Communities based on gender, belief and culture form engagements that believe to resolve issues of the society. Youth Civic Engagement is one such community which has its member list formed by youngsters of age and they voluntarily work to help the society. It helps to psychologically motivate the youth and inculcate them with individual responsibility towards rendering services for the betterment of the nation. Members, methodological approach to find solutions may differ among different communities engagement experience but their sole aim remains the same.
Various roles played in engagement experience are divided into civic, electoral and political voice. Civic duties include community problem solving, volunteering for non-electoral organizations, rising funds for charity and public cause. Electoral duties vary from voting, encouraging others to vote for emphasizing democracy, campaigning and volunteering for candidate promotion or political part promotions. The political voice is voicing the opinion and views of public to government officials, forwarding petitions, boycotting for a cause, contacting media companies to bring issues to forefront and so on. Engagement experience motivates, inculcates and encourages group participation to bring out desired results for the society.
