How to do the philosophy? This is major concern of the philosophical method. The philosophical methods study the methods that are involved in making the philosophy. There is a common notion among the philosophers that philosophy is distinction between the methods that are followed by the philosophers and the philosophical questions that are addressed. The philosophical questions are not answered only by using just one method. There are a number of methods used to bring out the answers for the philosophical questions.

In metaphysics, Aristotle wrote that the philosophy greatly depends on wonder. Some simple doubts about the beliefs that are accepted instigate the creation of philosophizing. Suspicion has been the root cause for philosophizing which is considered as the initial impulse. The basic belief about the world can’t be completely understood by us that in turn creates more philosophical thoughts and schools.

Formulating questions has been another possible philosophical method that has been adopted to find an answer and thereby the problems can be solved. The main assumption is that the more the questions are stated clearly, the more it becomes easier to be analyzed and to identify the critical issues that are in the problem.

Only a small number of philosophers opt to spend more time on the same problem by reckoning the problem in a deeper sense and bring out an extreme clear answer about the problem by reckoning what the problem is all about.

Enunciate a theory is another approach in bringing out a possible solution for the problem. Enunciating a theory offers a definition or analysis which attempts to solve the problem.  Even the philosophical theory can be stated briefly. It is not that every time the solutions that are proposed are filled with generalizations and definitions. Even at times there can be a certain sort of explanation which explains two different views by bringing the contradictions between each other on the philosophical terms. These explanations are called as philosophical explanations.

While dealing with arguments, it is necessary to know that arguments are as set of animals, one of which is followed from the other. The notion that arguments are just bundles of reasons is wrong. Instead arguments are logically interconnected to each other which are followed by the claims that they are reason for. It should be understood that the claim they support is the conclusion and the reason are the premises. Altogether they make the argument. Philosophical arguments, the other part of the philosophical method are also useful in reckoning philosophy.
