CHILD CARE

Children of age 0 to 8 supervised or taken care of by care provider is referred as Child Care. It is also referred as baby care or day care. Apart from health caring they are also administered with social activities, traditional cultural knowledge, and various activities of an organization. Child care preaches early education for better experience of a child.

Types of child care

There are a number of ways to take care of child. Nursing practice of mother from parents and responsible persons may be ambiguity at times, especially, for the first time parents. Ways by which child care is provided is neatly sketched down.

Nanny

They are specially employed by family members to take care of their children.This caring is like one to one caring. This varies depending on different individuals. They can stay in home or out according to their convenience.  For a middle class family nanny child care may seem to be expensive. When nanny is ill, someone else should be there to look after the child. They take care of child for 40 to 60 hours a week on an average.

Nanny sharing

The benefit of nanny sharing is same as nanny as they are available at lower costs. This caring provides strong relationship. Sharing may be a problem when it comes to time constraint.

Au pair

Au pair helps in exposure to family of different traditions. Au pair stay with family and there is no travel cost or time loss. Hence, they can give full attention to a child. Au pair has less experience or no child care experience. Their consistency is always problematic. By employing third person, privacy of a family will decrease.

Mother’s help

Mother’s help has no experience in caring child. They inspire children to achieve better career. Along with day to day housekeeping activities, mothers take care of their children. They should be trained as skilled persons after proper supervising.

Baby sitter

This type of caring is given only for a shorter period of time like week ends or evenings. Parents allow their children for refreshment through this care.

Long day care

They are cheaper than nanny. Center is run for this. Some centers are licensed. They have well organized structures and programs to take care of children.

Family day care

A skilled person gives caring in their own home for other’s children of ages upto 12. Their caring is feasible, flexible and overnight caring is also possible.

Kindergarten

It is pre-school program for a child of age 3 to 5. Its working time is similar to school hours.

OOSH (Out of School Hours)

Care that are given just before or after school hours or during holidays or vacation periods are OOSH care.

Home care

Best option to take child care when the parents are sick. They work on flexible time period.
