Brain Tumor
Brain tumor is nothing but intracranial solid neoplasm where the tumor is associated with the brain or spinal cord. The tumors are found in center of spinal cord or center of the cranium. The uncontrolled growth of cells and abnormal cell division in the parts of brain for instance in the glial cells, ependymal cells, astrocytes, myelin producing Schwann cells, lymphatic tissues, cranial nerves, meninges, pituitary gland, pineal gland, oligodendrocytes, skull. Brain tumor is a life threatening disease due to its invasive character and infiltrative character that are present in confined space of intracranial cavity. Mostly brain tumor is not fatal disease. Intracranial neoplasm or brain tumor can be cancerous in nature like malignant type and or non cancerous in nature like benign type. The threat to individual is dependent on the type of tumor developed, the located place and the way by which it develops.
The brain tumor can be diagnosed only by advancing equipments directly in to intracranial neoplasm as the brain is covered by skull. Detection is possible mostly in the advanced stage where the reason for brain tumor formation show some unexplained symptoms. The brain tumors are primarily situated in the posterior cranial fossa in case of children and in the anterior 2/3 of cerebral hemisphere in case of adults. The effect may be in any of parts of the brain.
