Anatomical Pathology
The branch of medical science that deals about diagnosis of disease depending on the microscopic examination, gross examination, chemical tests, immunologic tests and molecular examination of tissues, organs and whole bodies is defined as anatomical pathology. The anatomical pathology is further subdivided in to following types.
To practice anatomical pathology, an individual should have license, for this he or she has to complete the medical school and thereby secure the license for practicing medicine. One such approved residency program and certification is issued by American Osteopathic Board of Pathology or by American Board of Pathology. These certificates are required in order to be employed or to provide service for any hospitals privileges.
Anatomical pathology is a branch of two major branches of pathology namely clinical pathology. The clinical pathology refers to the disease diagnosis by analyzing body fluids or tissues in laboratory. The pathologist can perform anatomical pathology and clinical pathology which is a combination of single technology referred as general pathology. The major difference between anatomical pathology and clinical pathology shall increase the technologies brief introduction that requires new expert peoples and requirement of patient and physicians with associated diagnostic reports. The other special discipline of anatomical pathology is veterinary pathology.
