Alcoholism takes place when someone shows physical-addiction signs to the alcohol like withdrawal and tolerance, and still does not stop drinking even though knowing the problems related with health of body, health of mind, and responsibilities of his towards job, society or family.
The person who might develop the risk from alcoholism is:
- If number of drinks consumed by a man in 1 week is fifteen / more.
- If number of drinks consumed by a woman in 1 week is twelve / more.
- Any person who is having 5 / more than 5 drinks/ occasion minimum once in week.
Those who become fully dependent on alcohol includes following persons who:
- Are finding themselves under heavy pressure, specially the teenagers or students of college.
- Having bipolar-disorders, depression, schizophrenia or anxiety-disorders.
- Have a very easy approach to the alcohol.
- Have problems (minor or major) with the relationships or low pride’s feeling in him.
- Living a lifestyle full of stress.
- Living in such culture or society where use of alcohol is accepted highly.
Signs related to the physical-dependence of the alcoholism include:
- Illness which are related to alcohol.
- A want for the increasing quantity of the alcohol in order to achieve desired tolerance or for getting drunk.
- Blackouts of memory after drinking heavily.
- Symptoms of withdrawal when use of alcohol is finished.
Few behaviors and symptoms of the alcoholism are:
- Not quitting drinking, even though he knows that drinking is harming his health, family or work.
- Having drinks alone.
- Quivering in morning.
- Behaving in a secret manner for hiding the use of alcohol.
- Not bothering for his physical looks.
- Acting violently after having a drink.
- Making silly excuses for drinking.

- Having no control or limit on his drinks i.e. can’t stop drinking once started.
