Applications to Mechatronics

There are many applications of mechatronics. In addition to improving the efficiency and flexibility of the products. Some of the major applications are as follows:

Machine vision- it is one of the major applications of mechatronics. It is nothing but making use of computer vision. Many industries have already employed this computer vision system in order to boost up the security.  In other words, it is a process, wherein computers are employed to keep a watch of sensitive of areas.

Robotics and automation- the robotics and automation will help in reducing the human work. You would have already come across many industries making use of automated machines for lifting heavy objects and car companies making use of robotic hands for performing tasks like welding, sorting etc.

Control and sensing systems- the sensing systems or the controllers are used for achieving the process of conversion of physical quantities into signals, which can be compatible to the reader. The reader can be an observer or an instrument. For instance, the mercury in glass thermometers, which you will be able to find in most of the labs, will convert the temperature measured into expansion of the liquid inside the thermometer. The control systems are the devices, whose duty is to regulate, direct and command the behavior of other systems or devices.

Servo mechanics- servo or servo mechanics is some special devices designed for correcting the performances of the mechanisms after receiving the error sensing feedback.

Automotive engineering- this is a modern field, which makes use of the principles of mechatronics for making vehicles. The vehicles made in automotive engineering will be highly fuel efficient and will promise an outstanding performance.

In addition, there are also many other applications of mechatronics like packaging, computer aided designing, structural dynamic systems, medical mechatronic systems, vehicular and transportation systems etc.
