Center for study of ethics in the profession has put forth code of ethics for professional societies, academic institutes and government organizations. American Society of Mechanical Engineer (ASME) has given engineering code of ethics or mechanical engineers.

Fundamental principles of ASME

Each and every mechanical engineer shall be responsible for upholding the engineering profession with all integrity, dignity and honor.
