Computer Aided Manufacturing

The CAE or the computer-aided engineering is one of the widely used terms by the EDA or the electronic design automation. This industry comprises of the process of analyzing, computer designing and the manufacturing of many other products. They also render many other services. The CAE includes computer aided design or the CAD. This is the process of the using of a computer for the drafting and modeling of many designs. The CAE also involves the process of computer-aided manufacturing or the CAM. This is the process of the using of a computer for the managing of manufacturing processes.

The component of the CAE that deals with the manufacturing operations directly is CAM or the computer aided manufacturing. The computer aided manufacturing systems are commonly used for the process of the designing of the production process and for the controlling of the machine tools. This is also used for the controlling of the flow of the materials through the programmable automation. A computer aided manufacture system put together the designs and manufacturing functions by the translation of the final designing specifications to detailed machine instructions for the manufacturing of an item. The CAM or the CAD are quicker and makes fewer errors than the humans. They also eliminate the duplication between manufacturing and engineering.

The CAM or the CAD system allows the engineers to view how the different parts of one design communicate with each other even without building an example. The CAM and CDA workstations allow the designers for the converting of the numerical descriptions for the ski shape designs to tooling designs and drawings. They also allow one to create machining instructions, which can be used by any billing machine directly. These are the main manufacturing features of the CAM.
