Personal Wellness

What is personal wellness?  It is

  • Learning and continuing to love your self.
  • Wellness is all about yourself
  • It is all about your choices
  • It is all about your way to wellness and health in your life

Every individual must constantly strive to learn oneself and practice the art of loving oneself. It is important for an individual to learn and know ones strengths and weaknesses. It is only when we become aware of our weakness we are able to take corrective action and improve.

Personal wellness also means the wellness of health of individuals.  It is important that individuals need awareness, education and growth on health.  To keep healthy one should  exercise, regular and timely food is important.  

Wellness is becoming aware of and making choices to life a more fruitful and full life - a life of happiness and contentment.

Wellness Program Planning;   Many organizations, have planned programs for their employees where they under various medical health cheques. eg. Master health ups which is sponsored by the company.  Medical insurance policies are taken for employees by the company, where medical bills are paid by the insurance company when employees are hospitalized.

The various dimensions of wellness are:

  • Social wellness
  • Spiritual wellness
  • Physical wellness
  • Emotional wellness
  • Mental wellness
  • Medical wellness
  • Intellectual wellness
  • Environmental wellness
  • Occupational wellness
  • Financial wellness

To elaborate on a few of the above points:

Social wellness: A positive attitude and enjoying being with others

Spiritual wellness:   A time when one communicates with God in a spiritual manner and is happy to be in that bliss

Physical wellness:   When a person is healthy and strong with no health problems and keeps fit with regular exercise. 

Emotional wellness:   When a person expresses his positive and happy feelings in one’s self.   When the person views life in a bright and light manner

Mental wellness:  This is wellness that is related to the brain and behaviour of individuals.   It is important that all human beings are aware of the stress and strain of day-to-day activities and train their brain in such a manner so as to absorb such stress in the right manner.
