Motivation And Leadership
Motivation is the encouragement or boosting given to employees to innovate and support them to give their best in accomplishing their tasks efficiently. Employee motivation is the key to achieving extra ordinary results. Motivation at work or in the workplace is very important.
A manager who is also a leader is an asset to the company. Not everyone can be a leader. To be a leader one requires certain qualities. Leadership is being able to manage a group or a team of people and assist them in their work. Leaders do not have sub groups, but they have followers. Leaders have a vision that they try to achieve.
Motivation and leadership in an Organization:
Motivation and leadership go hand-in-hand in an organization. A manager must posses the qualities of both motivation and leadership. Unless a manager motivates his employees he will not get his desired results. Motivation encourages his employees to perform better. Motivation skills can be developed also by certain training facilities. Leaders should not only be positive but also be determined to change negative experiences into positive ones, which in turn lead to motivation.
Leadership Qualities:
A good leader should have the discipline to work toward achieving their goal. They should have good communications skills to explain to the terms to their team members. Dedication is most important. They should have the capacity to spend whatever time or energy necessary to accomplish tasks. They should be fair and just towards all followers. They should be open to new ideas and accept views from others as well. A sense of humor will help to break the boredom and give a break to workaholics.
Motivation and leadership qualities are not only required by management but also among employees. Leading is used to channel motivation into practical use. To promote motivation and achieve leadership there are an assorted variety of skills an organization of individual can use.
