HR Alignment with Strategy
HR alignment with strategy is the process of going deep in the components to find the successful human capital management. It requires many discussions in human resource development regarding the main aim and goals of the organization. The human resource management has to know how to achieve these goals. Often times the human resource know how to manage the goals of an employee but sometimes neglects the goals of the organization. This alignment may also be referred to as the integration of the decisions about the employees with the decisions about the results an organization is trying to obtain. Research indicates that agencies that successfully align human resource management with agency mission accomplishment do so by integrating human resource management into the planning process.
Some companies assign a model for alignment of human resources. The following core components shall be added in the model.
For organization: job analysis and design, roles and responsibilities, team synergies
For human resource processes: recruiting and staffing, compensation, benefits and rewards, talent management.
For organization culture: norms, beliefs, values, recognition
For talent: skills, experience, knowledge core abilities, expertise
Human resources processes are aligned and fine tuned to assure that talent is effectively placed and retained. This creates a link between all of the activities that are conducted as part of the human resource management and the business. This link explains that direct application of HR policies supports the business. The management should understand the relationship between domains when changes in strategies occur.
