Mexican – American War

The Mexican American War (1846-1848) held because of unsolved border conflicts in between Mexico and Texas’s Republic aroused after latter’s independence during Texas-Revolution occurred in 1836. Texas got admitted in U. S. in the year 1845 which resulted in increase in tensions with the city Mexico mainly in the conflicted borders.

United State Army's 1^st experience which was moving from side to side extended dispute in the land of foreign was Mexican war. The Mexican American War kept on increasing the boundaries belonging to United States. Conclusion of the war, United States had added about a millions of territories square kilometers. This acquired land became a ground for battle between people who fought to avoid slavery’s spread and advocates fighting to expand slavery. These differences tore the framework of state’s union and finally contributed in starting Civil-War of America, just after 13 years. United States Army learned a lot from the war of Mexico and after that applied same in Civil-War.

About 100 miles from northwest of Mexico City a probationary government  was established in Querétaro, including Manuel de la Peña, as meanwhile president. Some states still were in revolt against the government while some royalists wanted to carry on war with U. S.

Negotiations for settlement started from January. On 2^nd February, 1848 The Guadalupe Hidalgo’s Treaty was duly signed. From Mexico U. S. won identification by having Rio Grande to Texas, New-Mexico, and Alto California. Guaranty of right was given to Mexico for persons who were residing in those areas. United States agreed protection of Mexico borders from Indian attacks. Mexico agreed to give up territory belonging to it in a very good %, and United States against settlement gave Mexico $ fifteen million for destruction and finish the debt of Mexico to U. S. United States President got the treaty signed on 19^th February. Mexico’s Congress in May signed the treaty and so did United States Congress.
