Reproductive Technology

The anticipated and the present use of technologies that are involved in the animal and human reproduction are encompassed in the reproductive technology. Contraception and other assisted reproductive technologies are also included in this broad term. One important technology used in here is the assisted reproductive technology which is widely used to treat infertility. This has been used routinely in order to increase the population throughout.  On the other contraception is another reproductive technology which is used to control the fertility of the people. Contraception is mainly used when it is needed to control the population.

Assorted reproductive technology:

The examples of the assorted reproductive technology are the artificial insemination, the artificial reproduction, embryo transfer, cloning, per implantation genetic diagnosis and so one. Contraception is mainly used for birth control. Under this broad term “Birth Control” there are several methods and techniques which include contragestion which is the method to prevent the implantation of the blastocyst and abortion which is the expulsion or the removal of the embryo from the uterus.

Contraception:

There are various barrier methods that are used in the contraception which includes the usage of condoms, diaphragm, injectable contraceptives and the hormonal contraception which is also called oral contraception. On the other hand, the post coital birth control which is also known as contraceptives also includes certain intrauterine devices.

LGBT:

In the reproduction technology, there are new possibilities for LGBT parenting was found. According to this new method, two women would be able to have a daughter or a son with same level of genetic contribution from both the women. Similarly two men would be able to contribute equally for their son or the daughter. This has become possible through the formation of either male eggs or female sperm which are taken from the cells of an adult women and men. This technology has helped the lesbian and gay couples by giving them possibilities for not to look for a third party to help them in begetting a child. The first development of this technology occurred in the year 1991 by the scientist U. Penn. Though the early attempts of the female sperm took place in this period, it took two more decades to bring the idea of the female sperm to reality. In the year 1997 chicken female sperms were created by the scientist in a similar manner.

Ethics of the reproductive technology:

There were many issues on the reproductive technology. With still  many issue left unresolved and debates on the move, bioethical issues were prominent because science collapses and alters the assumptions that are hold by people on reproductive morality.
