Religion And Sex Integration

Every religion is connected with the both sexes in the same way and seems to offer equal access to faith and spirituality. But major religions continue to evade certain privileges for women though most of them originated before the period of renaissance and even after reformation flourished in most of the places still things haven’t changed.

Religious practices

While Islam women are never allowed to go closer to the altar of god which is called sanctuary and in some places never enter mosques and the religion also gives less importance to women in its text as support to the system paving way for the debate on religion and sex integration. Likewise in Christianity women are not allowed to be priests as this role is believed to represent ‘Christ’ himself. And even in Hindu religion women are prohibited to enter and worship their deities and more so not even visit some temples. For visits by women to these holy places are believed to make them unholy and hence considered sin. This religion too never allows women to take the priestly role and perform the sacrileges. And this way many religions themselves discriminate women gender but remember the society irrespective of the regions have been until now male dominant because they are stronger sex by nature and the religion advice women to yield and submit to men.

Faith as key to religion

Though occasionally there were some protests on the concept religion and sex integration and revolts from feminist groups of few religions to provide equal rights as men to perform sacrileges, yet they never persisted or suppressed. Faith seems to play a crucial role and questioning religious precepts are considered to doubt the very religion itself.  So such issues are easily solved as a matter of petty importance. In fact many women who are religious believe that these are the roles assigned to them by the creator himself.

Reasons to suppress the debates

They accept gracefully the responsibilities such as rearing the children and to look after the household duties with little retaliation. Religion and sex integration has been one sided since origins and women had to depend upon men for security and protection from various factors. And most of the religions depict god in the form of man because only stronger and powerful person can be a superior being. So the concept logically has to be accepted by the vulnerable gender.

Thus religion lashes out logical and cognitive solutions to the most of the queries raised against the concept of religion and sex integration. So the debate has been losing significance in recent times with not many people insisting the equal access to it.
