Evolutionary Psychologists

Evolutionary Psychology is the biological approach to the study of human behavior mainly the examining the psychological traits such as memory, perception or a language form modern evolutionary perspective. The term evolutionary psychology perhaps was first coined by American biologist Michael Ghiselin in 1973 article published in the journal called ‘science’.

Natural selection

There have been many evolutionary psychologists we have had so far and some of them have made significant contributions to the society with their theory. Darwin’s theories of natural selection for instance a significant one which is study in the behavioral direction of this planet’s future. Darwin’s theory though accepted and greatly appreciated by many scientists yet had severe criticism by religious forces who opposed his opinion in this regard. Natural selection happens when individual organism if suited better to the environment leave behind the descendents and their genes through reproduction populate. Evolutionary psychologists point is that just as they evolve physical adaptations they also develop psychological adaptations.

Inclusive fitness

William D. Hamilton proposed the inclusive fitness theory which insists a gene’ eye view of evolution. Hamilton marked that the evolution’s choices are the genes and not groups or species. These genes multiply through reproduction or find way to survive when shared with close relatives and thereby ensuring their genes to exist.

Parental investment

Robert Trivers came with the parental investment theory in through which he says that the two sexes often contradict or have debate over how much to invest in their offspring and control their productivity. And he concludes by saying that parents allocate more resources to offspring and both these have contradicting interests.

Game theory and others

Around 1944 Neumann and Morgenstern proposed the game theory which says organisms adapt, respond, to competitors relying on the strategies used by competitors. Strategies are evaluated by the probable payoffs of alternatives. In a population, this naturally results in an "evolutionary stable strategy or evolutionary stable equilibrium" -- strategies that, on average, cannot be bettered by alternative strategies.

And again in 1971 Robert Trivers developed a certain strategy that maintaining mutual relationships through social interactions are achieved with non-kin during game and cheating is severely punished.

Herbert Gintis proposed the generalized reciprocity one can participate nice with non-kin strangers even in solo interactions if social rules against cheating are maintained by neutral third parties, a majority group members cooperate by generally remaining to social rules, and social interactions create a positive sum game. This theory is applicable especially when set adaptations take a blow in quarrel between in and out group tribal affair.
