Androphobia

Androphobia is an abnormal and strange fear for men. This is derived from the Greek (andras / man) and (phobos / fear). Androphobia may be related to painful events in sufferer’s past. It may be due to social phobia or social anxiety disorder. This is usually a justifiable phobia due to the fact that it is typically brought on by a prior rape or physical assault where a man is the perpetrator. As a result it can also be one of the most difficult to cure.

One would think that this would normally be a disease that would only affect to females; however, approximately just as many men as women suffer from androphobia. Many men were sexual assault victims, and it is not limited to just the victims. A great amount of witnesses have become androphobes as well.
