Personal finance is the study of how individuals manage money and allocate capital. It examines financial behavior on an individual level rather than an organizational level.

Investment management is the study of how investors can maximize returns using security analysis and portfolio strategy. Investment management not only picks investments but how to weigh types of investments in a portfolio.

It is the study of applied mathematics in finance, which deals with the study advanced models that pertain to the valuation of financial instruments in markets. A good thesis in financial mathematics attempts to derive new applications from a theorem in mathematical finance.

Financial Markets:

Financial markets are the places where assets are bought and sold. The structure of stock, bond, currency and derivative markets are oriented with financial studies. In finance, markets are important as facilitators of exchange and determinants of asset value and price.

Financial Regulation:

Financial regulation is the use of law to guide the conduct of market participants and penalize participants who engage in questionable activity. The study of finance which really effects the financial regulation based on market behavior and performance.
