Marketing and Corporate Communications
Marketing Communications is a part of marketing in which the information related to the products or services, the brands, the values, offers, etc. are communicated with a MARKET through various media. Marketing Communications like the advertisements, the presentations, the brochures and Product Promotional Websites are the promotional activities of the Four Ps of Marketing. They are Price, Promotions, Place, Product and Promotion which are collectively called as “Market Mix”.
Marketing Communications have many forms like Advertisements, Sales Promotions, Direct Marketing and creating Public Relations, etc., Advertising is an effective method in Marketing Communications that is initiated by a marketer or a company to create or continue relationships with its customers. The Main objectives of the Marketing Communications are creating awareness about products and services, building preferences, Increasing Popularity of a Product or Service, Positioning the product and Brand Building. Direct Marketing or Arm Chair Shopping is a method of Marketing Communications in which the market directly comes to the home or the office and the buyer(s) need not go to the market. Some of the Marketing Communication Strategies are identifying, analyzing and understanding the target Market and the buyer’s behavior. Market Trend research and Studies on buying behavior, psychology, sociology are helpful in better understanding of consumers.
Corporate Communication is a communication which is issued by an organization or a corporate or a body, either in written or verbal form to the Internal or External bodies that are collectively called as Public. The term “Internal bodies” refers to the internal communications which are exchanged between the employees of a company between various departments. Internal Communications can be the announcements related to the growth of company, future plans and the vision. Internal Communication of the Corporate Communication is a key of the growth of a company or a business or an organization.
The term “External bodies” refers to the agencies, media, government bodies, educational institutions, etc. External Communications are the communications to other companies or agencies or its shareholders such as the business information, performance, growth, etc., External Communications may be in the form of annual reports, brochures, offers, etc., External Communications are very important in growth of the business and it plays an important role to make its presence felt by giving up to date reports on developments and growth to people.
Marketing Communication is focused on its Products, Production and services of a company, but a Corporation Communication is focused on a company or an enterprise itself. Marketing Communication concentrates on demand, supply, product promotions and positioning, branding, etc while corporate communication is focused on issue managements, planning, mergers, etc.
