"Justice delayed is justice denied".This is a question for which every constitution must have to give an answer. It is this justice which millions of people trust upon. Justice is fair judgment. In other words, justice is equity. Criminal justice is the study of laws concerning criminal behavior. Criminal justice is a gadget for social control, for preventing and lessening crimes and for imposing the convicted with punishments and penalties. The criminal justice system comprises of the police, law enforcement agencies, the courts and the lawyers and those working in a judiciary capacity, custodial institutions and departments of corrections.

The criminal justice system is one of the most important public services of a country and is considered to be noble since its main duty is to render justice to all by punishing the guilty and protecting the innocent. The criminal justice system is responsible for investigating the crimes to bring justice, to improve the effectiveness of the rules and procedures, to instill a sense of confidence in people of the country regarding the efficiency of the criminal justice system. The main aim of the criminal justice is to maintain law and order, to prevent crimes and criminal acts, to punish the criminals and to warn the criminals from committing any such crimes in future.

The criminal justice should be very strong and impartial that it should focus on a fair and balanced treatment. Criminal justice differs according to each and every country’s legal policies, procedures and proceedings. The criminal justice in India needs to be little stronger and the standard of investigation should be more professional and unbiased and be objective.

The main aim of criminal justice is to give a fair and sympathetic treatment by the police, courts and the judiciary system. The existing provisions under the law should support common men and of course provide security to the victims. The criminal justice system is almost in the grip of corruption today.  Today, the media serves to bring to light all the incidents and happenings of the society and institutions and hence, even an uneducated person comes to know about the corruptions that has hit the system. The criminal justice systems are becoming highly expensive and sometimes even a dream to the poor.

 A suggestion to improve the criminal justice would include simplifying the laws and procedures, amending certain Laws and Acts, and thereby bringing in certain reforms in the constitution. The criminal justice system should follow the principles of justice and true spirit and it is our duty to pay tribute to our constitution.
