Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a technology used in the computer science field where the computers are trained to think and take decisions like human brains in a creative manner. Artificial Intelligence is an advanced branch of computer science where computers are programmed with human intelligence by which the computers can learn from experience, make decisions based on logical reasoning, make complex analysis and decision making, adapt new situations and recognize large amount of patterns.

AI technology is widely used in Expert Systems and Neural Networks. Expert Systems with AI are used to solve real world problems in which all the human knowledge and the reasoning skills are encoded in the knowledge base of the system. This helps the Expert Systems assist humans to take complex decisions and to solve problems. Neural Networks are made up of nodes that are arranged in various patterns which represent the Intelligence of the task. Neural Networks are applied for complex pattern recognition. Like the biological neurons of the human brain, Neural Networks uses interconnected artificial neurons that allow the computers to recognize and classify patterns. Neural Networks are formed as the digital representation of a human brain.  Once trained, Neural Networks can classify and process patterns in a massive amount of complex data. One common example of AI is the Microsoft Office Assistant which provides the end users with customized assistance by using the decision-theoretic reasoning of AI.  

Artificial Intelligence is applied in the fields of medicine, military operation, animation movie making and surveillance. In everyday life and in a wide range of industries, the AI Technology is used in several areas like, the fuzzy logic or the smart technology used in cameras, air conditioners, video games, traffic lights, refrigerators, security systems and medical equipments, Voice and Speech Recognition, Robotics, Language Processing, Image Recognition and Image Mapping, Automatic scheduling for manufacturing systems, Assigning airport gates for flights and railway crew, Financial Transactions and so on.

In this ever advancing technological world, the speech recognition technology is going to improve a lot in the near future and humans can communicate with the AI systems using their own voices. Practical applications based on AI technology such as cognition, perception and digital recreation aspects of human brain will increase in numbers in future. Inevitably, the vast growth of AI technology may result in restructuring of our society and this may lead to the age of robots. AI technology is growing fast and is going to become a powerful force in our technological evolution.
