Essay Writing

Essay writing needs to argue for a particular point of view or to explain the steps necessary to complete a task.  An essay can be written for many purposes, but the basic structure is the same.

Introduction Paragraph:

The first paragraph of your essay. It introduces the main idea of your essay. This paragraph captures the interest of the reader and tells about the importance of the topic.

Summary paragraph:

The summary paragraph exists at the end of the essay after finished developing your ideas. The summary paragraph is often called a "conclusion." It summarizes the main idea of the essay.

Prewriting stage:

The prewriting stage is used to prepare your ideas for your essay before you begin writing. You will find it easier to write your essay if you build an outline first, especially when you are writing longer assignments.

Decide the topic what are going to write. Collect the facts related to the topic and write down your own ideas. Find the main idea of the essay. Finally, organize the ideas into paragraphs.

Writing stage:

The writing stage is used to turn your ideas into sentences.  Write the thesis statement and some background information for the introduction. Write clear and simple sentences to express meaning. Focus on the main idea of essay. Make use additional word to express exact meanings.

Editing stage:

The editing stage is used to check your essay for mistakes and correct them.  Editing involves grammar, spell checking, style and organization. Read your essay again. Make sure each sentence has a subject. Make sure your subjects and verbs agree with each other. Check the verb tenses of each sentence. Make sure that each sentence makes sense.

Publishing stage:

The publishing stage is the final stage in essay writing where a copy of your essay to hand in.
