Properties Of Gases And Vapors
Properties of Gases:
Gas is a state of existing matter. A substance will be zero at absolute zero. When heat is introduced in to solid it either becomes liquid at its melting point or becomes gas at its boiling point. All pure gaseous substance is made of single or varieties of atoms. Mixture of gas has different variety of pure gas as air. In between liquid state and plasma state there exist gaseous states. Following are four physical properties of gas.
There is intermolecular force existing in between each and every gas particle due to electrostatic interaction.
Properties of Vapor:
Water vapor also referred as aqueous vapor is nothing but gaseous phase of water. The evaporation or liquid boiling or ice sublimation shall result in vapor formation. Continuous vapor formation is by evaporation of liquid and removal of condensation. Vapor is a green house gas. During transition of liquid and gas shall result in kinetic energy release or absorption. Vapor carry heat with it is referred as evaporative cooling. Evaporative cooling can be controlled by restricting atmospheric conditions. Amount of vapor in air can be measured with the help of hygrometers. In terms of density, water vapor is denser than air without moist. It is buoyancy state at equivalent temperatures. When the concentration of vapor increases, simultaneously it increases the pressure of water vapor. However the total pressure of air must be constant.
