Mechatronics

Mechatronics is mixed combination of Mechanical engineering, Electronic engineering, Computer engineering, Control engineering, and Systems Design engineering in order to design, and manufacture useful products. Mechatronics is one of the multidisciplinary engineering system design, that is to say it rejects splitting engineering into separate disciplines.

Application

Robotics:

Robotics is a branch of technology that deals with the design, construction, operation, structural disposition, manufacture and application of robots. Robotics is something related to the sciences of electronics, engineering, mechanics, and software.

Automation:

Automation uses control systems and information technologies to reduce the need for human work in the production of goods and services. In the field of industrialization, automation is a step beyond mechanization. Whereas mechanization involves human operators with machinery to assist them with the muscular requirements of work, automation greatly decreases the need for human sensory and mental requirements as well. Automation plays a big role in the world economy and in daily experience.

Servomechanism:

A servomechanism is an automatic device that uses error-sensing negative feedback to correct the performance of a mechanism. The term will apply to systems where the feedback or error-correction signals help control mechanical position or other parameters. Let us consider an example, an automotive power window control is not a servomechanism, as there is no automatic feedback that controls position—the operator does this by observation. The car's cruise control uses closed loop feedback, which classifies it as a servomechanism.

Speed control by a governor is another type of servomechanism. The steam powered engine uses mechanical governors; another early application was to govern the speed of water wheels. Prior to the World War II the constant speed propeller was developed to control engine speed for maneuvering aircraft. Fuel controls of a gas turbine engine employ either hydro mechanical or electronic governing.
