Designing of web page is mainly involved in developing web sites for the Internet or for Intranet. WebPages are designed keeping in view of storing data on the computer, for doing online business, banking transactions etc. Earlier the web page designing was confined only for storing data so as to reduce the workload for the people and also this was an efficient way of storing data rather than manually storing it. Drastically the importance of WebPages has grown. Websites such as Orkut, Facebook, Twitter are providing a platform for the people to communicate freely around the world.

Coding of WebPages can be divided into Client side coding and ServerSide coding;

Coming to Client side coding,here the data is written on the client side and developer can make necessary changes when ever required.The code is in simple tag format or ready made Example of this type of coding are HTML, Java Script AdobeFlash etc,Here the compilation takes place at the front end.

In server side coding the data is written keeping  in view of the server.Examples of serverside coding are ASP,Cold Fusion, Microsoft.Net etc. here the code is complied at the back end.i.e on the server .Sometimes Client side and server side are combine to achieve a good output. Examples Google Talk makes use of this technology. Even the data base techonolgy like MYSQl, DB2 are made use in developing webpages.
