Software and Its Applications

Software stands for information stored onto some standard or perhaps the types of programs that are used to operate computers and related tools. Software can be considered as the variable part of a computer and hardware as the invariable part. This is often classified into application software and system software that includes operating systems and supporting application. The expression middleware ism at times used to describe programming that arbitrates between application and system software or between two various kinds of application software.

This software can be bought or gained as shareware which comes for sale in the market after trials have been carried out. Likewise there are liteware, freeware and public domain software which can be acquired with some conditions or some restrictions. Nowadays extensively software and its applications are available in shops which come in the form of DVDs and disks while some of them can be downloaded from sites in the internet. The sites through which these are available are known as ‘application server provider’.

Common Applications

There are some types of software and its application in common such as the productivity software that includes word processors, spreadsheets and devices for use by most of computer, presentation software, and graphics software for graphic designers, CAD/CAM software and specialized scientific applications.

Limitations of Software Programs

Yet the software with all these abilities has certain drawbacks. These will not be able to perform the analytical ability and cannot do the coding for the user. The user has to decide what kind of coding and specify for the program to deal with it. And software and its applications do not minimize the bias and enhance dependability on its own. The user has to specify what kind of functions will improve the quality of analysis and also say how to analyze data. The software as well does not calculate statistics while some programs will produce simple counts and percentages.
