Proteins
A chain of amino acids will make the organic compound called protein. The amino acids will also be folded for giving a globular form to make proteins. There are many numbers of peptide bonds, which will bring about the connection between different amino acids. The peptide bonds will be formed in between amino and carboxyl groups of different acid residues. The gene sequence brings about the definition of the amino acids sequence. The gene sequences are found to be encoded in genetic codes. Basically, there are over twenty amino acids being specified in a genetic code. In some organisms, pyrrolysine, archare and selenocysteine are included in the genetic code.
There is post translation modification happening during the synthesis process of the proteins. During this process, there are some sorts of alterations done to chemical and physical properties of the proteins by activity, stability, folding etc. In addition, proteins will also combine together in some cases in order for performing certain function. In addition, they also play a major role in the formation of stable complexes.
The polypeptides will be having many features, which are highly distinguishable. One such major feature is the special ability, which they posses for folding into a globular structure or state. However, there are many variations found in the extent of folding of proteins for forming a specific structure. Most of the researchers have come up saying proteins will fold for forming some structure, which are very much rigid. There are also some sorts of fluctuations noticed in the structures of proteins as well. On the other hand, some proteins will also witness a process of rearrangement, wherein they will turn out to acquire a new conformation. Signal event is all that the conformation changes are being associated with. Therefore, the protein structure will either be a medium for regulating the enzyme activity or regulating the protein function.
