Alternative Cancer Therapies

Cancer therapies that are provided outside the mainstream cancer treatments are referred as alternative therapies. Nicholas Gonzalez, a New York physician suggested that cancer can be treated by dietary control and proper nutritional supply rather than opting for chemotherapies. This states that postponing care harms the patient. An alternative therapy reduces the danger of side effects from other administered therapies.

Characteristics of alternative cancer therapies

  • Treatment is effective against wide spectrum aliments
  • Suppress the cancer therapy effects
  • Single source product is utilized
  • Credibility for availability
  • Nature laws explain working mechanism
  • Less toxic compared to mainstream cancer treatments
  • Usually counselled to practice

Types of available alternative cancer therapies

Available alternative cancer therapies are as follows.

  • Burzynski and antineoplastons
  • High dose Vitamin C
  • Laetrile
  • Metabolic therapies
  • Psychotherapy
  • Electromagnetic therapies
  • Oxygen and ozone therapies

Burzynski and antineoplastons: Stanislaw Burzynski treated cancer and he called it as antineoplastons. He improved the immune defense mechanism with a mixture of amino acids, peptides and organic substances. He treated the patients with glioma in just 29 days. It is used as alternative treatment for patients suffering from pediatric brain tumor.

High dose vitamin C: Linus Pauling proposed cancer treatment with increased dose of Vitamin C. Vitamin C improves the defense mechanism of an individual. He has inadequate information on the mode of cancer action with Vitamin C and dose to be administered. It is under research to treat myeloma with Vitamin C.

Laetrile: Substance extracted from apricot pits and other such fruits are laetrile. This is widely used as alternative cancer treatment till the 1970s. Later, it is termed as Vitamin B17 in the name of amygdalin.

Metabolic therapies: Metabolic therapies with the help of dietary control, supplementation of enzymes and nutrition to detoxify the cancer cells. Gerson and Nicholas Gonzalez were the first to study metabolic therapies in pancreatic cancer individuals.

Psychotherapy: Bernie Siegel and Deepak Chopra popularized a term called psychotherapy. They developed Exceptional Cancer Patients to evaluate breast cancer patients.

Electromagnetic therapies: It is believed that body immune system is disturbed by electromagnetic field. In the year 1930, alternative for cancer therapy named bioresonance therapy was developed. This was confirmed by Royal R. Rife.

Oxygen and ozone therapies: Cancer cells can not survive when the environment is oxygen rich. Oxygen is believed to kill the cells with the help of ozone auto chemotherapy as oxygenated pills or solutions. This includes ingestion, intravenous infusion and colonic administration.

  • State the characteristics of alternative therapies
  • In what way alternative therapies are different from normal cancer therapy
  • Give a detailed note on types of available alternative therapies
  • How oxygen is administered to kill the cancer cells?
