Architecture

The art and science of designing and up righting buildings and other physical structures is known as architecture. An architect offers or renders professional services in connection with design and construction of a building. Architecture is a general term used to describe buildings and other physical structures. It is a style and method of design and construction of buildings and other physical structures. It compromises design activities in all levels; micro level and macro level. It is the process of planning, designing and constructing form, space and ambience, social, environmental and aesthetic considerations. The act of thinking, discussing or most importantly writing about architecture is known as architectural theory. Most architecture schools teach architectural theory and are practiced by leading architects from all over the world. Architecture theory takes the forms of lecture or dialogue, treatise or book and the paper project. Architectural theory is didactic. Since antiquity, architectural theory has existed. Through years architectural theory has gained increased richness. Architects and critics in the 20th century have published extraordinary talented works along with books, journals and other magazines. Vitruvius, Leon Battista Alberti, Andrea Palladio, Sebestiano Serlio, John Ruskin, Hans Auer and Hermann Muthesius, Otto Wagner, Raymond Unwin, Lucio Costa, Charles Jencks, Aldo Rossi, Peter Eisenman, Robert Venturi, Jeff Kipins, Leon Krier, Colin Rowe, Robert Somol and Mark Wigley are some architectural theorists.

Architect

Architect is a person who is well trained in planning, design and oversight of the construction of buildings.
