Neanderthal
In the early 1900s, after several skeletons were found, the French palaeontologist Marcellin Boule, found that the Neanderthals could not completely extend their legs, walked stooped over, and they had their head pushed forward. In the year 1957, several researchers or anthropologists re-investigated the skeleton Boule and then confirmed that is was Neanderthals who were walked straight and that the bent posture due to arthritis problems. More proof from several places has shown that the Neanderthals wore ornaments, made simple tools, had religious rites and cremated their body according to their religion and now they are called as homo sapien.
Neanderthal man, type of the early human, existed between 125,000 to 35,000 years ago and was usually considered a subspecies of the Homo sapiens. The Neanderthals' middle Palaeolithic culture comprised fire, burial, cave shelters and stone tools. The so-called classic Neanderthals were healthy and had thick skull, large, a sloping forehead, brain quite larger than that of the modern humans and chinless jaw and their height was about 5 feet. It is indistinct whether the Neanderthals were replaced by the Homo sapiens sapiens or interbred with various other early men. Homo sapiens neanderthalensis, or Neanderthal man, lived between 230,000 and 30,000 years ago. While it has been concluded that this species is not a direct ancestor of modern man, Neanderthal man is in fact quite similar to them. Some characteristics of Neanderthal man mimic Homo erectus, such as the protrudingjaw and sloping brow. Neanderthal man's brain size is a bit bigger than modern man, at an average of 1450 CC. Neanderthals mostly lived in cold climates, and their body proportions were similar to those of modern cold-adapted people: short and solid, with short limbs. The average height was about 5'6" (168 cm), and by bone mass it is believed that they would seem extraordinarily strong by today's standards. Neanderthal man was well advanced, using a wide variety of tools with precision. This species is also noted as the first species that buried their dead, and also relied on a more evolved social structure than past Homo species.
