Aztec Empire

The Aztec empire was a highly praised empire which is based in Tenochtitlan that extended its control all over Mesoamerica during the late postclassic era. Aztec empire was established in 1427 as Triple alliance between the city-states Tlacopan, Texcoco and Tenochtitlan who allied to conquer the Tepanec state of   the Azcapotzalco, which had earlier conquered the Basin of Mexico.  Soon Tlacopan and Texcoco became junior partners in the treaty that was de-facto led by the Mexica of Tenochtitlan.

The Aztec empire expanded its control by a combination of military conquest and trade conquest. It was not at all a true territorial empire ruling a territory by huge military garrisons in dominated provinces, however instead ruled its client regions and states mainly by putting friendly rulers in the conquered cities or building marriage alliances between the ruling empires and by expanding a regal ideology to its client states.  The client states paid compliments and tributes to the Aztec emperor and the Huey Tlatoani in the economic strategy restraining trade and communication between distant polities making them depend on the imperial hub for the acquirement of luxury items or goods. The political clout of the empire moved far south into the Mesoamerica acquiring cities as far south as Guatemala and Chiapas and across from the pacific to the Atlantic Oceans. The Aztec empire expanded its maximal expansion in 1519 just before to the invasion of the Spanish invaders which was led by Cortés who tried to bring down the Aztec empire by joining with a few of the common enemies of the Aztecs empires.  The fact is that the origin of the Mexicas is unknown.  According to several experts, the origin of the Mexicas was the Aztlán
